Faculty Program Coordinator

generoche100.jpgGene Roche is Director of Academic Information Services, serves as manager of the Technology Integration Program, and is a member of the IT management team. Gene also is an active member of the EPPL faculty, working with students on independent study, dissertations and comprehensive exams and serving on search committees and other administrative committees. Gene completed his AB degree at Hamilton College and MS and EdD degrees at Syracuse University. Before coming to William and Mary, he was the Director of Career Services at Hamilton and taught in graduate programs in Adult Education at Syracuse University and Elmira College.

Senior Academic Technology Specialist

tammythrift1001.jpgTammy Thrift's focus is promoting technology as an innovative tool to broaden learning potential -- with instructional objectives as the driving force for technology integration. She collaborates with SOE faculty on classroom strategies including lecture casting, Blackboard, videoconferencing and distance learning technologies. Prior to joining the College, Tammy served as the Coordinator of Technology and Media for Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools. Under her leadership, WJC developed an award winning vision for curriculum integration of technology enhanced classrooms and labs, making it a model for excellence throughout Virginia.

Classroom/Desktop Engineers

markeaton200.jpgMark Eaton is one of the two IT liaisons to the School of Education. Mark has a B.A. in Biology from Rutgers University and a M.S. in Secondary Education from Radford University. Mark worked in macromolecular crystallography for eight years before deciding that he should turn his technology support skills into a career. After a year in the private sector doing IT support, Mark joined the College of William and Mary in his current position.

S_at_waterfall.jpgSharon Stone is a doctoral student in the EPPL program with a concentration in Curriculum and Educational Technology and a cognate area of Special Education. She is particularly interested in adult learning theory and how technology can be applied to second language acquisition, remedial studies, and accommodations for students with disabilities.
